Which is the best career track in The Sims 1?
The 10 base game careers have the top level salary inverse proportional with entry level salary. Entertainment career have lowest entry level salary and highest top level salary, Military career have highest entry level salary and lowest top level salary. At level 6 salaries are close apart, $500-550.
Livin’ Large, Unleashed and Superstar expansion packs add more careers which most of them follow the base game career rules: low entry level salary, high top level salary, but not all them.
Advice for quick advancing in careers
Is difficult to maintain over 10 simultaneous friends by playing a single family. You should play multiple families to make friends with the Sim you intend to reach top position in careers. I was able in this way to reach even level 10 (Mayor) in Politics which required 17 friends in The Sims 1. This in 2004 when I did not had internet connection and I had not many things to do thus could play The Sims for long periods of time, I compiled a table with the 10 career tracks in base game, by testing personally each job. The current Excel file I compiled from The Sims Wiki in 2018.
Many people asked me for a cheat to advance in careers. There is NO cheat in The Sims 1. The Sims 2 introduced a cheat “boolprop testingcheatsenabled true” that, if entered while you are in neighborhood view, once you open a lot you can click the mood bars and friendship scores, quickly making friends and send Sims to work in good mood.
I realized today that the download link for The Sims 1 neighborhoods and lots was broken (the file was uploaded on server with different name than the link set for download). I re-sent download link to the 14 people who attempted to download it since I created this Excel file in December 2018 (some did entered fake emails so will not receive).
I would have appreciated if any of you would have reported the broken link so I could fix it earlier.

The 14 people I mentioned in previous comment did not paid, because I was offering this Excel file for FREE. I put price $5 after I spent new efforts to make similar tables for The Sims 3 and 4, afterwards 1 person did paid $5 for The Sims 1 career list, while other 2 also paid for Sims 2 and 4 career lists. And where can you find such information for FREE in Excel table format? You can find for free on Fandom Wiki, but NOT in a structured table format that you can sort or filter.

Stop trying to make money off of people’s memories and nostalgia, I just wanted to be entertained by remembering the funny job descriptions. It’s the PS2 version but I remember some of the text, so it’s the same from the PC version. It’s such a shame that literally everything on the internet is behind a crappy paywall nowadays.
You need to put yourself in your place, who do you think you are? Let people work the way they want, you know nothing, no one is forcing you to stay in this website, you came here on your own.
